Passion of Cosmin

Have you ever tried working on a personal project for almost 4 years? Like spending all the time and passion you have? Well, I kinda did. While I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I'm not completely satisfied with the result, there are many others who seem to disagree with me. And let's face it, who am I to argue with thousands of people from 166 countries and territories? It's been exactly 1 year and 249 398 visits since the launching of my Romanian Heritage - Patrimoniu Romanesc photo website, showcasing all the monuments that have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Google Analytics helped me realize the amazing impact it had in the world:

My poor vocabulary is going to make it very difficult for me to explain how it feels to receive messages from hundreds of strangers from different continents congratulating and thanking me for making them proud to be Romanians. Or for making them cry with happiness. Or for bringing back beautiful memories. Or for giving them a chance to go back to their home country they haven't seen in 20 years. Or just for making their day a wonderful one.
It's been an incredible journey to gather all 882 images and quite a painful experience to built the website and I would still take pictures today for the project if I didn't leave Romania in September 2008. One month after the launch - in April 2009 - I had an interview for a financial program on the Romanian National Television. They made me and my work look really good, saying that I did more for promoting Romania with my own resources than the Romanian Ministry of Tourism with a budget of 75 Mil. Euros. The show is in Romanian and some of you might not understand everything, but you can still see me being excited and all:

So, if you are one of the remaining 6 billion people on this planet that haven't seen my website, you might as well take a look: UNESCO Romanian Heritage. Here are just a few samples of what you can find.

  3. Salut Cosmin!

I've missed the show at that moment but thank you for sharing it with all of us now. I am happy that I've finally meet you, as you for sure know the words - better later than never - it's exactly how I feel.

Is always a pleasure to read your posts, but most off all I enjoy every story you tell us and I dream someday you'll tell me my story. (If I'll have any chance to visit Canada I'll do my best to meet you and your wife)

Good luck and look forward to see the next amazing pictures you'll show us!
