Madhu & Prashant - Jain Wedding in Vancouver

It's quite refreshing to start the wedding day at 2 pm.
Vancouver make-up artist Anita Hundal is helping Madhu with her ... make-up, of course:
Ioana took a few pictures:
I'm really proud of her for this shot of Madhu's mom:
She also took a picture of this brand new BMW, a gift for the bride from her parents:
Prashant asked if I could see Madhu's name written on his palm. Obviously I couldn't because he calls her Payal:
The Baraat ceremony is led by a full size orchestra:
The groom's family follows the music:
Last but not least is Prashant ridding a mare:
None of them mind the rain:

He's actually busy with an old ritual:
Texting his future wife:
By the entrance he finds out he has to pay to get in:
I think the groom is being measured, although that doesn't make too much sense to me:
Waiting for his bride to be:
Ta-ta-ta-ta:
The wait was worth it:
By exchanging garlands they accept each other as husband and wife:
Loud and clear the grandparents conclude the ceremony:
Prashant is welcomed in Madhu's family:
To sign or not to sign?
We sneak out for a few minutes to get some shots by the pool, which was wonderfully decorated for the occasion with petals and candles:
Back in the hall, the party is not waiting for us:
I can still hear the bhangra:
Departure:
Leaving in style. This is the first palanquin I see:
Next day, before reception we have a few minutes for pictures:
We're at the Pearl Palace again:
The menu continues to surprise me. Bruschetta:
And we're back:
The couple's brothers are playing MCs:
Deepali and Aashna:
Excellent show:
Traditionally, members of both families feed the couple cake. Usually not in the same time...
The last speech:
And the first dance:
Congratulations Madhu and Prashant! Thank you so much for trusting and flying us to Vancouver to be part of your celebrations!
