Navie & Josh - Homemade Wedding Rehearsal

It's - actually - the Sikh engagement ceremony, called Takha.
It takes place at Josh's home and it involves all the religious aspects, including the Guru Granth Sahib, which is always covered and protected by the Chandoa, a canopy made of fine cloth:
Even the ragis are here:
They are replaced for a while by Josh's talented uncles:
The Kirpan (dagger) is one of the 5 Kakkars (articles of faith) worn by a baptised Sikh, better known as a Khalsa:
The Kesh (uncut hair) is another one of the 5 Ks and Jura is a way to tie that hair:
The women are in a different room:
Known as the cinema:
The religious ceremony is almost over:
Josh's father takes the Guru Granth Sahib out:
While a crazy aroma is coming from the kitchen:
Who wants lunch?
Navie's sister turns interior decorator:
The couple is ready for donations:
Watch for Josh:
Jewellery for Navie:
And lots of sweets! A little too much, maybe:
Something from the heart:
Navie's mom has a new son:
We're thinking of a few pictures outside, but it's January and we're in Edmonton, so there's like 5 meters of snow everywhere:
Congratulations Navie and Josh! I had a great time and it looks like you did enjoy yourselves, as well!
I hope to get invited to the wedding, whenever it'll be!
