!ncredible Enough For You? - Dhamekh Stupa - Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh

   Located only 10 km north of Varanasi, Sarnath is probably the most sacred place for Buddhists. This is where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharmachakra or the Wheel of Law in 528 BC, right after his enlightenment. The 5th century AD, 34 m high Dhamekh Stupa is believed to be built on that spot. Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world come here to worship:
