Known as Takha or Takka, the Sikh Engagement ceremony takes place sometimes before the wedding. It can be 2 years or - in this case - a few days. We're now back in Patiala, Punjab and we'll stay here for the remaining of the wedding festivities. Without further ado let me introduce the most important character of our story - Tina:
And she's ready for any ceremony:All her family is waiting for the future groom and his crew:
I can't tell you how fast I got used to these guys and all the food and drinks they kept throwing at us throughout the week! I really miss them now, when I have to go to the fridge to fetch my own meal. Thank you:
Mani's family is here and they bring gifts, as usual. Ioana found a vantage point for these shots:
Welcome to Patiala:
It's hard to believe, but Tina can look even better:
I think Mani falls in love all over again:
Encouraged by ovations, he gets down on one knee to fulfill his destiny:
You can use a rock that big for self defense and other fun activities, like blinding oncoming traffic:
And we're back to the food:
And presents:
Lots of them, for everyone:
We'll see Mani again in the wedding day, but now he's going back to Kattan:
I'll be back with more Indian rituals after a short break!
