The big day starts with Tina getting ready under the First Guru's eyes:
New design from Jimmy Choo:
Let me introduce to you the bride:
For a few moments I thought she was a super model, so I insisted we take some pictures:
Outside the gurdwara, the parade is coming! I mean the groom:
The mothers have one last chat before it all begins. Mani is not worried, it's just the sun in his eyes:
No, it's not Dancing With The Stars! It's the milni:
One more time, let me introduce to you the bride. In her limo this time:
And again: here comes the bride with her family:
Her dad is giving Tina away:
It's good to be a photographer in India! You can have your own live light stand! The live cable holder/carrier is included and comes at no extra cost:
Tina's mom is congratulating her first son:
The Guru Granth Sahib is leaving:
While everybody is congratulating the newlyweds:
For the portrait session we didn't have much time. The Sheesh Mahal - the Art Gallery of Patiala - would have been a great location if it wasn't under extensive renovations:
We have to improvise a little:
Now, watch very closely the next image! More exact, the right upper corner:
Yes, it's the name under I operate in Punjab - Sumeet Digital Studio. And this is how I found the studio, during our single take of the rickshaw shot - true story! (I've found the billboard days earlier)
Moving on - the reception starts in the middle of the day, outside:
One of the pictures from our last Fall e-session at the Devonian Gardens in Edmonton:
Punjabi dances in ... Punjab! It doesn't really get any better than that:
The last introduction for today - Mr. and Mrs:
As usual, money is flying in the air and somebody is always ready to catch it before it touches the ground:
These guys are highly specialized! They'll take your money even before you let it go:
Cake cutting in the sun:
First dance in the rain ... of rupees:
Not only the money can fly:
What can I tell you about the food?
I have never ever seen so much and such a variety in a single place!
You know for sure nothing is missing from the table if you have raw papaya salad with lots of peanuts:
The party ends before sunset and we go back to the house for the doli ceremony:
Where some fearsome negotiations take place:
It looks like Simi - Tina's sister - is really aggressive, but she's actually welcoming Mani. Very kindly:
The departure always leaves a trail of rice ...
.... and sadness:
Tina is going with Mani and they will soon fly back to UK:
Traditionally, the men from the bride's family are pushing the car away:
Congratulations, Tina and Mani! Thank you so much for inviting us to your wedding in India! Special thanks to Tina's family who was a fantastic host and made our first trip to India an !ncredible experience!
