Parneet & Jaspal - Recipe for an Indian Wedding

Ioana starts her day with Parneet, at her place. Enough time for a few pictures in the backyard:
Now Parneet has everything she needs to step into her marriage:
In the same time, I'm cheering for the groom while his father is making his turban:
His sisters are taking care of the sehra bandi:

And they see him out of the house for the last time as a bachelor:
At the gurdwara, everybody is placing offerings in the Golak. No coin is too small:
 The bride always brings gifts:

Inside the temple, the women and the men sit separately. I don't know exactly why and neither does the little girl who wants to go exploring the other side:

So happy to be married! How refreshing:
What you're going to see next is the largest bridal party ever recorded. I let you count them, so you feel involved. We even have bride's men and groom's maids and we all go to the Hermitage Park for a photoshoot:
So lucky! I have the chance to capture the ten minutes of Spring that Edmonton is blessed with:

Talk about lucky: even the fishing season is open:

We're all a little tired at this point:
But the fun part is yet to come! Jaspal comes to Parneet's house to take her away and he's supposed to play a game to save some money on the deal:
But he doesn't have time for that:
The fee is paid and we go in:
 Parneet's mom is saying goodbye:
 Very hard to let go:
 Leaving:
Parneet's dad puts his faith in Jaspal:
 Balle, balle:
A brand new surprise tradition awaits for us at the groom's place. The couple can't pass before they sing and dance:
It's been a very long day, and they will do just about anything to get inside and sit down. It's even fun with lots of support from the audience:
The first step inside the house, as a married couple:
 For a sweet new beginning::
Finally the warm welcome they've been waiting for:
But it get's warmer, quite hot, actually:
I'm not sure what's this about, but as long as everyone is enjoying it...
The reception is the next day, so we have some time before the party for a few pictures in different outfits:
I'm really happy to notice this:
What did I tell you about the Spring? It's gone now:
I so look forward to the 20 minutes of Summer! While I'm complaining about the seasons, Ioana is being awesome at taking pictures:
At the Meridian Banquet Hall, by the entrance, Parneet and Jaspal are welcoming their guests from 2 great canvases with pictures of their choice from our Engagement photoshoot:
When they come in, they go straight for the cupcake cutting ceremony:
 Speeches and a toast:
The dance performance is definitely one of the reasons you should go to a Punjabi wedding if you've never been before:
Keep your eyes on the prize:

Hard to follow an act like that, but Jaspal invites his wife to dance:
Of course she can't refuse an invitation like that:
 Then everyone is invited:

The future of Bhangra - Free style Bhangra:

Congratulations, Parneet and Jaspal! We had an awesome time!
