Sukhi & Jagroop - Punjabi Wedding Rituals

Usually, Sikh wedding celebrations last for 5 days.
This one is no exception and starts with the Mehndi ceremony:

Lawn-mowing must be a new ritual and it's done by the proud father of the bride:

The second day we have the engagement ceremony, also known as the Chunni or the Ring ceremony:

The future groom is welcomed by his new family:
After taking his seat, he patiently waits for his bride to be:
 Definitely worth the wait:
Flowers are nice, but rocks can sure make a girl's day:
Jag receives a pretty cool watch from his father in law.
After many years of being a member of the Indian community I can safely say the watch serves purely decorative purposes:
 Gifts pour in all directions:

 And now something for everybody:

Time for my favorite song of the week - Jaago Aaya:

The third day things get a little messy:

Just a little messy at Sukhi's place:

But more dramatic at Jag's house:
So, this is what winning looks like:

And one more time - Jaago! Because some of us really like it:
And the neighbours might wanna see it, too.

I'm not the only white boy enjoying this particular dance:
The party goes on, but I have to go back to the hotel because the big day comes next!
