Aleem: "Truc and I met at an eye clinic in Calgary, where I began my career right after graduation. As a new Optometrist, she was there to guide me and assist in patient care. I quickly understood why Truc was a highly regarded office manager. She was truly a boss! Extremely efficient, took no crap from anybody, regardless of their position in the company.
I was intrigued by her beauty and witty sense of humor. I remember flirting with her and giving her a hard time one day and was surprised she was able to give it right back! I was truly impressed by her independent nature and her carefree attitude.
Now, I was well aware of the rules regarding inter-office dating, but being somewhat rebellious myself, I took no time to ask her out. Thankfully she obliged, because the office would have been somewhat awkward and, of course, this blogpost would not exist :) As we began dating, I learned more about this sweet, kind, stubborn woman. For the first time, I had a girl who would challenge me and call me out on my mistakes. She has really made me a better man and I can now call her my better half. I feel blessed to have Truc as my bride and partner for life. I mean really who could up with my man child complexe :) "
Tupley: "When I first saw Aleem's name on the september 2009 work schedule, I was excited to meet our new doctor and was hoping he would be the new eye candy for the office. Aleem came strolling into his first shift wearing his black pants and white dress shirt. The first thing that caught my eye was his big smile and perfectly lined beard.
Soon after all the inter-office flirting, I added him on facebook and he responded instantaneously which got me excited! On September 10, 2009 I was eating my lunch when he asked me out to dinner. I remember I laughed out loud because I was beyond ecstatic that he was just as attracted to me as I was to him. From that day on, we've been enjoying each other's witty banter and quirkiness.
What I love most about Aleem is his ridiculous sense of humour, the love he has for his family and friends and his passion of giving the best eye care to his patients. It's also a bonus that he's just as much of a foodie as I am, specially when it comes to my mom's Vietnamese cuisine, like Pho."
Congratulations again, Truc and Aleem! Thank you so much for making me a part of your unique Vietnamese - Ismaili wedding!
