Ruhee & Deep - Sikh/Muslim Wedding in Edmonton and Jasper

  This Canadian summer continues with yet another fusion wedding.

 We start in Edmonton, where Ruhee is getting ready for the Anand Karaj, Sikh marriage ceremony.

 I have no idea what this is, but I took a picture, anyway. Maybe Susan specialized in group makeup:

 Deep is almost ready, too:

 The baarat is short and the white horse is a blue Lexus:

 Just before the milni, a well planned ambush is being carried away by the bride's family:

 They are after the groom's shoes, and it seems that Deep puts his kirpan to good use:

 Finally, mom saves the day:

 And the milni can resume:

 There's one more important step to take:

 It involves Deep giving a lot of money to Ruhee's sisters, so he can enter the temple and get married:

 And he's in:

 And his soon to be wife follows him:

 The ceremony ends with one last prayer:

 A few days later we find ourselves in the Canadian Rockies, at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge:

 She's definitely not going to be nervous this time. Like... at all:

 The boys are in the nearby cottage practising their bhangra moves:

 And speeches:

 The rain decides to take a break:

 So we can start the Nikah, Ismaili wedding ceremony:

 In between the showers and the blinding sun, most guests decide to hold on to their umbrellas:

 Deep is not that emotional just yet; it's just too bright outside:

 And here it is the newest double married couple in Canada:

 After a fusion wedding, it is customary to dispose of the bride in a nearby lake:

 One last getting ready:

 Deep is losing his facial hair, but the new look is not met with enthusiasm by his new wife:

 On the contrary, his groomsmen seem to approve and can't keep their hands off him:

 Once again, the happy couple:

 First dance:

 Looks like they are still new at the kissing thing:

 The kissing thing gets better. I think:

 Time for a gameshow:

 Congratulations one more time, Ruhee and Deep! Thank you so much for a beautiful fusion wedding in the incredible Rocky Mountains.
