Navneet & Mark & Rocket - Punjabi Wedding Rituals in Pind Edmonton

Traditionally, the Punjabi weddings begin with the Chunni ceremony.

This is when the two families are formally introduced and exchange gifts.

Rocket's here all dressed up, as well. He was getting a little desperate during the five minutes he couldn't see Navneet:

The second day brings the songs and dances of the ladies' sangeet:

And rain, lots of rain.

Anuvir, the bride's brother, is the MC for the evening:

I spend the same evening at Navneet's. As usual, in front of the house, there's an elegant sign mentioning tonight's events:

After a quick shower, the choora ritual commences.

The rain stops for a minute, so we take the jaago around the village.

The party doesn't stop, but I have to save some energy for the wedding day.
