All my work comes through the word of mouth. Google must have a big mouth because it was heard by Madhu all the way in Boston, MA.
The 5 day wedding was in Vancouver last week. I met Madhu and Prashant for the first time on Wednesday and we took a few sunset pictures on the beach:

We get along just fine:
Next day we have a few ceremonies at Pearl Banquet and Conference Palace in Surrey. The menu makes me think I'm in the wrong place:
I relax when I see Prashant:
Both families are Jain by name and by religion, as well and most rituals are similar to the Hindu rituals. The Tika Ceremony is when members of the bride's family bless the groom by putting a tika on his forehead, a red mark, symbolizing well wishes and luck for the couple's future:
They also prepared a few gifts for the groom's family. Now I know why an East-Indian wedding costs that much:
Only to transfer the presents to Prashant's family may take a couple of hours:
Here comes the future bride:
If you change the groom with the bride you got yourself the Godh Bhaarai Ceremony:
That has to be an inside joke, because I can't say I got it:
The Ring Exchange ceremony is highly anticipated:
It all happens under a shower of flowers:
Prashant's family prepared a story about how the couple met:

Bollywood meets Cirque de Soleil:
Madhu's family is from Toronto and yes, they came to party:
The third day is mehndi day:
The design is a little different than what I've seen before:
All the ladies got new bracelets:
And we dance again:
Madhu's Haldi Ceremony (a.k.a. Maiya) takes place in the morning of the wedding, in her hotel room at the Executive Airport Plaza:
I have about 5 inches space to work, so this is all I can get. There are some new traditions, as usual:
Prayers and rice:
Prayers and candle:
In average, an East-Indian wedding has around 4 -500 participants. But it makes sense when you need 4 grown men to apply a tika:
The turmeric mix looks more like a salad, that's why probably Madhu is enjoying it:
She's even fighting back:
But she's outnumbered:
There's more Vancouver wedding coming your way, so don't go anywhere! OK, you can go, but come back soon!love.more.cosmin
I don't like Vancouver, I love it:
