Simran & Aminder - Punjabi Wedding Traditions in Calgary

  Aminder:
"The story of how Simran and I met is pretty ordinary; the result is what makes the story special.
We met through mutual friends, got to talking and decided to hang out. On our first date she brought her friend along because she was nervous! Despite that setback, things went well enough and we decided to hang out again, just the two of us this time.
On our second date we went to watch a movie, I decided to be a gentleman and bought two extra large pop and popcorn combos with a gigantic chocolate bar. So we watched our movie, I finished my popcorn and my pop and I look over, and her popcorn bag was still full! Simran said she wasn’t hungry, I think she just didn’t want to eat in front of me. I had just paid $40 for popcorn; I wasn’t going to let it go to waste, so I took her bag and started to eat. I got thirsty so I asked her for her pop, she had an annoyed look on her face. After all that pop and popcorn, my stomach started to hurt so after the movie I went home, the annoyed look turned into an angry look.
Let’s just say when we first started dating mistakes were made by both sides...
After that it has been (relatively) smooth sailing. I’ve been with Simran for so long that I don’t remember what it was like without her in my life. We’ve grown together as we grew up together. From being teenagers and high school graduations, to starting university, finishing university, and finally being working adults; the best part of all these events have been experiencing them with her.
People always ask you questions when you’re getting married. Are you ready? Are you scared? What’s going on in your head right now? All I can think about are how last seven years have been the happiest of my life, and now we get to share our love with the people we care about...
The last week of June is going to be all sorts of awesome!"
