Best way to start the wedding day is to hide the bride's shoes in plain sight:
Don't mind me, I was feeling creative.
Winni's ready to impress everyone.
Meanwhile, Bogdan is at Superman's lair:
Both families meet in the front of the gurdwara for the milni.
It looks like dancing, but it's actually a "greet and lift" type of friendly competition, where the men are trying to pick each other up.
After breakfast, everyone heads in for the Ceremony of Bliss.
The intimate gurdwara is filling up quickly right under the bride's eyes:
Raelynn and Rubyn are working double time.
To create a priceless ambience.
To make sure there are no confusions, Winni is pointing her husband-to-be to her father before the palla ritual:
Everybody stands up for the last ardas, concluding the Anand Karaj.
The shagun brings cash and sweets for the newlyweds, but Rohit is not too much into the sweet part:
However, the money proves very useful immediately, when he has to pay ransom for his juttis stolen bythe pirates of Calgary Winni's sisters.
Definitely worth a grelfie (group selfie):
The girls are insatiable and they express it in capital letters:
Rohit's empty palms facing upward is a clear sign that he's out of dough:
But he still wants the honey, so he has to perform a few tasks:
Finally, as in most cases, he's allowed to take his new wife away for good.
Not before she says goodbye to her loving family.
The reception is on the last day of the festivities and we relax for a while in the Confederation Park:
A whole set has been prepared for the bridal portraits.
Well, not really. We found it there and it was way too suitable not to use it.
Many thanks to the anonymous decorator.
Such a great feeling to walk into a place where everybody knows your name:
And they are waiting for you with cake:
Speeches and games ensue to keep everyone entertained.
The lights are dimmed for the first dance.
But the music is turned up for the rest of the night:
Nathan and his dhol have been doing this for many years:
It's hard to recognize Ricky from Videogenic without his video camera:
Congratulations one more time, Winni and Rohit! Thank you so much for showing me a great time!
