Sonya & Kev: "We met almost exactly ten years ago while living and studying in Prague, Czech Republic, and we soon became inseparable. Together, we traveled all over Europe, shared political science classes, and experienced the vast cultural experiences that Prague had to offer. Over this time, we soon discovered our similar interests, views, and outlooks on life. As our time in Prague wrapped up, we did not want our relationship to come to end, so we decided to make long distance work between Colorado and Pennsylvania while we continued our college studies."
Mom shows up to make sure everything is up to standard:
While the party already starts in Norwalk, I drive south, to Riverside, to catch up with Kevin at the fancy J House Hotel:
Easy to figure out why Aaron is his best man; they both have a gift for each other:
Dolce Hotel has the perfect location for the first look:
It goes down like this:
Even the following looks are quite nice:
The ceremony and the reception will take place at Roton Point Association, right on the shores of the Atlantic.
The flower girl, Lani, is more of a flower herself:
The groom is in position and he's excited with anticipation:
All rise!
That's what we call a rollercoaster of emotions.
The ceremony ends in a tumultuous round of applause.
Even the Canadian geese come by to congratulate them:
Judy, Sonya's Au Pair from Munich, Germany, wanted to bring a fun German tradition to their wedding. In Germany, as the bride and groom are emerging newly married from the ceremony, their friends have prepared a sheet with a heart drawn on it. The sheet is held in front of the couple and they must cut the heart out in order to pass: To make it a real effort, they are typically given the smallest pair of scissors such as nail scissors in order to symbolize overcoming the first challenge in their new union. I know better, but Sonya actually looks like she's done this before:
Then, the husband carries triumphantly his new wife through the heart.
One more step and the reception commences.
Father and daughter dance:
Mother, son and grand daughter dance:
Around Town Band takes over from here and the dance floor fills up.
As for me, I found my new favourite corner of the room, and I'll return here regularly throughout the night:
Champagne gives you the possibility to express your emotions in a bubbly way:
Sharing is caring:
Now, that everybody has a drink, the party can only get better:
Congratulations one more time, Sonya and Kevin! Thank you so much for inviting me to Connecticut, to be a part of your beautiful day!

"Ten years later, we have shared many travels, adventures, and defining moments, creating lasting memories together while living in Denver and New York City. We have grown together over this time and love to travel, cook, go to concerts, and enjoy outdoor activities. We look forward to making our relationship “official” and starting our lives as a married couple! Cheers to forever!"
