As you may already know, prohibited areas are usually the most fascinating and appealing. So let's step in.
Nav starts her wedding day with beautiful gifts from her husband to be, like a fancy purse:
And shoes to match:
Last, but not least, a t-shirt that she'll have to wear for the rest of her life:
Her bridesmaids prove very useful:
Meanwhile, I spend my morning with the groom.
As soon as Amar's pants are on, Gurjot can proceed with the turban tying:
Nav: "I remember the first time I saw Amar, it was during a bhangra practice at the U of A. Amar had come in to 'teach' us and I thought to myself 'who is this guy and why does he think he can teach me bhangra?'. Fast forward a few months, we found each other on social media and exchanged numbers. Six months after our first meeting, he finally mustered up the courage to ask me out for our first date on July 1st, 2012. I always knew he was the one, and exactly six years later, it became a reality."
Under a beautiful blue sky, the baarat is followed by the milni.
Inside the langar, Zaika catering does a delicious job for breakfast.
Knowing the Danju family, I'm sure they prepared the gulab jamun section just for me:
But I'm kind at heart and I share with everybody:
Nav walks in with offerings and the Anand Karaj is about to begin.
Amar: "Throughout high school and university, I knew of most people around my age and they knew of me. That all changed when I met Nav in January of 2012. I didn't know who she was, where she came from, or what she was doing; all I knew was I needed to get to know her more. It took some time and effort, but eventually that summer I managed to get her number and ask her out. After that first date, as they say, the rest is history."
The flower palla is all the rage this year:
Nothing more suitable for a newlywed photoshoot than the End of the World. We'll call it the Beginning, though:
Champagne for everybody!
Or just for whoever is faster and thirstier:
Back at Nav's home, the boys will stop at nothing to get Amar his wife.
Amin proudly dances in a sari:
Simran drinks shots off the ground:
They also have to drink a beer each, but it's hard to imagine they take it as a challenge. We're all Punjabis here, after all.
Finally, Amar proves he's fluent in roti.
Still, he has to pay handsomely to be allowed inside:
It's time for Nav to say goodbye to her family:
No tear is spared on her way to the car.
Excited, her new family awaits:
The last of the 6 days of celebrations starts at Hotel Macdonald:
Amar and Nav are already a team:
Sunita Sumaru is part of the team for a little while, as well:
It's comforting to see that a newlywed couple figured everything out even before the first dance:
One more proof they are a great team together:
We leave the fun and games of the photo shoot for the fun and games of the party:
There's cake and more champagne at Meridian banquet hall:
Love is everywhere, and it comes in form of tears and laughter.
After the first dance, Twinbeatz take it over.
The night is long and full of dancing, so hydration breaks are most welcome:
Congratulations one more time, Nav and Amar! So happy to have been a part of the team for six amazing days!
Let the lifelong games begin.
