The festivities begin six nights before the actual wedding day, at Leefield Community Centre.
Judging by Sumeet's Ladies Sangeet, this whole week is going to be a nonstop party.
Next up is Vincky's Ladies Sangeet, at the Aria banquet hall.
Simona is helping me every day and she's more amazing than I could have asked for:
'Out of Sync' dance group live up to their name:
And they definitely are the night's main attraction:
Even though there's tough competition.
Another day comes, which is a good reason to get together again.
This time, Sumeet's mom is welcoming her relatives during the traditional Nanki Shak.
There are lots of rose petals and sweets involved.
How often do you get a rangoli with your name on it?
Sumeet looks like he's been waiting for this moment his entire life.
The family receives lots of gifts:
And they look even better up close:
This calls out for more celebrations and another jaago.
At Vincky's place, all the ladies are getting their mehndi done.
It's a task that requires an army of Henna artists and a skilled photographer in Simona, to capture everyone:
Kundan Henna is the one that signs the creative bride's design.
Aaand we're back at the Aujla family for a second round of maiyan:
Apparently, Sumeet can't get enough of that mushy turmeric paste all over his face and body:
All his cousins and friends are happy to help with that.
It's finally time for the future bride to get her custom made rangoli:
After a quick shower, she's excited for the Choora ceremony:
Her uncles are supposed to drink themselves a cup of milk, but it's obvious they don't do this everyday:
There, it's all fixed:
The festivities end with sound advice from the most experienced person in the room, Bibi. The wedding day is coming, and Vincky can use all the words of wisdom she can get.
